Tooth-Related Halloween Costumes to Try This Year

Love your teeth? Of course you do! So why not pay tribute to them this Halloween with a fun, tooth-inspired Halloween costume? Why should witches and ghosts have all the fun?

Tooth Fairy Want to pay homage to teeth but still wear a tutu? Then you might want to trick-or-treat as the tooth fairy this year. You’ll need wings, a wand, a tutu and an all-white outfit. Collect candy in a white pillowcase with "teeth" written on it, or if you’re really creative, make a tooth-shaped candy bag yourself!

Couples Costume Idea: Brush and Paste Going to a party or trick-or-treating as a duo? Dress up as a toothbrush and toothpaste tube. If you’re bringing along a child or pet, you can even add a floss container to the ensemble.

Dentist Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so we won’t be upset at all if you want to go trick-or-treating as a dentist this year. Just pair a white lab coat with scrubs, a surgical mask and some clear goggles.

A Tooth You can buy tooth costumes at many online retailers, or you can make one yourself with a cardboard box, some white paint and a little creativity!

Dracula Yeah, we know, he’s not dentistry-related. But with those fangs, he still makes the cut. Just make sure to get fake teeth that are comfortable. This is one costume best avoided by small children, as those costume teeth can be a choking hazard. Another tip? If you or your child do choose to wear costume teeth, make sure you brush your real teeth well before you wear them; otherwise you could be trapping your teeth in a bath of debris and bacteria while they’re on.

Rabbit Rabbits are another costume that aren’t quite tooth-related, but they do have those big buck teeth! Best of all, unlike Dracula, your rabbit costume probably won’t scare anyone if you’re trying to keep your costume child-friendly.

Austin Powers While he doesn’t exactly promote excellent oral hygiene, Austin Powers definitely will get you a lot of laughs, especially if you wear his signature teeth. The same brushing rules apply to Austin’s teeth as Dracula’s – brush before wearing.

Remember, whatever costume you choose, there’s nothing scarier than the effect all that Halloween candy has on your teeth, so if you and your children do indulge, make sure you don’t go to bed without brushing. Also, if you’re looking for safe sweets to pass out to trick-or-treaters, stick to dark chocolate or sugarless gum, or skip the candy altogether and give out toys, glow sticks, stickers or pretzels.
