Surrounding myself with “Like Minded-People”

In life we tend to surround ourselves with people that are of the same mind-set. Positive people gravitate to positive people. Successful people surround themselves with people of the same success or greater. People with certain religious and political views retain friends with like views.

This also holds true with me in the work place. I’m very fortunate to be able to have a team that is as passionate about our work and our patients as I am. I choose to surround myself with people I not only want to work with but in turn want to work with me.

The ladies that are employed in my office are of the highest education level in a dental office other than the dentist. They are all dental hygienist. So, when you call the office, a hygienist will answer the phone. They also are my chair-side assistance. They are cross-trained and will be albe to assist you with any question you may have from insurance to dental procedures. I employ the brightest and most compassionate hygienist I could find. This has insured my patients that they are being well taken care of.

Just like MasterCard, I “don’t leave home without” them. I attend numerous hours of continuing education in a year. I take my team herpes yeast infection with me. They learn with me as I learn new techniques, technology etc.

Another positive point of having these like-minded ladies work together, we all collaborate when discussing a personalized dental plan for our patients.

It’s a win-win-win. It’s win for me as a dentist having a passionate team. It’s a win for my team having a dentist that values their thoughts and invests in expanding their education. And a win for the patient to have all of us understanding what is important to them and working together to accomplish exactly what the patient wants.
